Hydro excavation is the most preferred way to dig because it is safe, non-destructive, and more accurate. The concept of hydro excavation was inspired by gold mining in the 1800s. The construction industry adapted the technology to work with vacuum trucks and sewer cleaners. Over the years, companies began to manufacture trailer-mounted units to perform the digging work, and these rigs have become increasingly more sophisticated.
Our approach to construction challenges evolves as new technology is developed, as the economy fluctuates, and as demand changes. Cherokee adopted hydro excavation as our method for non-invasive digging in 2020. Hydro excavation is the most efficient way to dig without causing damage to existing underground utilities. On almost every project, it is necessary to dig where there are underground utilities. Hydro excavation has allowed us to considerably lessen the risks associated with digging.
